The Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Meerut was established in 1987 as an autonomous body and is registered as an Educational Society under Societies Act 1860. Himself a great visionary and a dynamic personality, late Prof. Raghuvansh Rajan founded IHM Meerut to give this historic city first Hotel Management Institute in Northern India.
Meerut is a historical city where the 1857 uprising started against the British rule. It is the richest district of Uttar Pradesh in agriculture and occupies a leading role in the politics of Western U.P. It has the added advantage of being close to New Delhi, our national capital and is well connected by road and rail. The airstrip of Meerut is being developed into a proper airport to be upgraded later as an international airport.
Foreseeing sharp increase of employment opportunities in hospitality industry, following the rapid growth of tourism, the institute took up the challenge of transforming young students into professionals for the hospitality sector.
IHM Meerut at its old campus with an area of over 2.5 acres has already emerged as a leading training institution in north India. Students of previous batches have made their mark through out the country and abroad. Industry circles have appreciated our efforts in churning out thorough professionals and are keen to absorb them across the entire spectrum of hospitality industry and even beyond. At the present juncture IHM Meerut is proud of the legacy of the old campus complemented by the Daurala Campus which is fully established since 2006. This campus with ultra modern facilities in a 12.5 acre area on National Highway 58 (Delhi-Dehradun Road). It has properly laid out separate blocks with approx. 2.25 lacs sq.ft. covered area including academic block, laboratories with most modern equipments, administrative block, two restaurants, separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, auditorium, staff quarters, guest house, play grounds and other facilities to make the institute an ideal educational centre.
Both the campuses together offer complete theoretical and practical training specially designed for future hoteliers. Students benefit from expert techniques which focus on the hotel profession of today and prepare themselves for many outstanding employment opportunities.

IHM Meerut has been ranked as 2nd best in 2010.......
IHM Meerut is ranked as 2nd private hospitality institute in India and 4th best institute in the country in recent ranking done by GHRDC in 2010. In 2009 also , IHM Meerut had been ranked as 2nd best private hospitality institute in India, and 5th best institute among all categories ( in a survey conducted by GHRDC and published in Competition Success Review in April 2009 issue).
